How do I calculate my average?

Kindly note that you need to calculate your overall average (from your 1st year of studies to your current/last year of studies)

To work out your average you will need to add all the totals of your subjects together. Once you have the total you must divide it by the number of subjects you had.

For example (I am using 3 subjects as an example)

Afrikaans = 60

English = 50

Maths = 60

Total = 170

170 divided by the three subjects (170/3) = 56,66%

So that 56,66% will be your average.

Please remember to use percentage as the grade scale if you are studying at a South African institution
